Membership
The Richard III Society membership year runs from 2nd October (King Richard’s birthday).
If you join the Society between 1st August and 2nd October, you get free membership until 2nd October is reached. Membership then lasts until 2nd October the following year, when your renewal subscription will fall due. Members who join between August-October will not need to renew until the year after. New members will receive an email containing a digital welcome pack which will include information on how to access past issues of the Ricardian Bulletin and The Ricardian online. This will apply to all new members, whether they have elected to receive hard copies of the magazines or not.
All UK members and those overseas members who have chosen to receive hard copies will receive their first hard copy when the next issue is published. Please note that The Ricardian will be in a digital only format for 2026.
Please note that members not based in the UK must choose whether they wish to receive hard copies of The Ricardian and The Ricardian Bulletin or not. Those wishing to receive hard copies must pay the overseas mailing charge (currently £15). Thank you.
Anyone under the age of 25 should select the Under 25 Membership option.

How to Join
To join the Society online, click on ‘Buy Now’ next to the membership category you require and complete the forms. We will then get your membership pack to you as soon as possible. If you wish to pay by Direct Bank Transfer or cheque please see below.

The easiest way to pay is by setting up a Direct Debit. You can either do this on via the online membership form, or by using the form available here.
You can pay by PayPal or by credit/debit card via PayPal – you do not need to have a PayPal account in order to pay this way. The Society’s PayPal account is richard3society@yahoo.com . Please complete the ‘Message to Recipient’ box by entering ‘Subscription Payment’ and your name and postcode/zip code.
Alternatively you can pay by Direct Bank Transfer, or cheque, by filling in the form downloadable from here and returning it to us via email to our Membership Officer Julia Langham at msl@richardiii.net or by post to:

Cheques should be made payable to The Richard III Society. Please endorse the reverse of the cheque with your name and postcode/zip code.
We can only accept sterling cheques drawn on a UK bank. The Society’s bank will not accept cheques in any other currency or drawn on an overseas bank.
